How does the process work?  After registering with Greathouse Media, we will send your a summary of required items to help us put together your web site.   Once we receive all your information, we will put the concept site together.  You will be notified for any minor edits or changes.   Once those are made.  We will provide you with detailed information on what you will need to edit and maintain your web site.

Who owns the Domain Name?   You do.  Even though we may register it for you and monitor it.  You own it.  Its yours to keep, transfer or let expire.

How do we pay Greathouse Media?  Payment is simple.  We can invoice your business or ministry.  You can send in a personal check following your on-line registration.  Or, we can send you a secure PayPal link for online processing.   We don't ask for any payment until you have registered.

Many hosting providers offer unlimited server and bandwidth use, why not Greathouse Media?   No ethical hosting firm is going to offer you unlimited anything.  These are unfortunate marketing tactics that play on peoples ignorance.  For over a decade we have monitored clients usage of web space.  They average is around 15MB per site, with 45MB of bandwidth per month.  We start you out at 50MB with unclocked bandwidth.   If you exceed that, we'll contact you about your growing needs to develop a solution that is scalable to your web requirements. 

What am I contractual bound for with Greathouse Media?  Once we receive your payment and have begun design, layout and setup work we are unable to offer a refund.   You still own the domain name.   If you need to transfer that - we can help.   Your web site is automatically renewed each year.  We don't want your web service interrupted.   If you decide you no longer need the web hosting services of Greathouse Media, you must provide us notice of cancellation within 30 days of its annual expiration date.   Otherwise, the invoice remains.

Should I use my web server email or a bulk provider like Yahoo or Hotmail?  That is up to your personal preference.  Your web server space gives you unmatched control over your email configurations.   Our servers use POP3 / SMTP exchange.  Some people don't like POP3 / SMTP, and others would like without it.  We'll do everything we can for you to maximize the benefits of your own email server.

Can I send out large volumes of email to my customers or members?   You can use your email server accounts for anything that is within legal and ethical usage.   However, in compliance with FCC / FTC regulations you can not send SPAM.   You also can not send more than 500 emails within one hour intervals.   We have limits set on the server to reduce risk of bulk spammers, ddos attacks and hackers.   If you see your email needs growing beyond that volume, you may want to look into a bulk email manager or mailing list program.

Should we decide to host our own site or relocate our web site to another provider can we take our web site design with us?   Any web design elements provided by Greathouse Media, or its affiliates, is not transferable.  Sorry.

I am unfamiliar with HTML or web design.  Can Greathouse Media give me lessons on HTML editing or graphic design?   Unfortunately, we are unable to provide one-on-one training.  There are many free resources and tutorials on the web, along with great self help books on HTML design.
